What Is Slap House?

Slap House is a new direction of house and a subgenre of Deep House, distinguished by a rhythmic and quite aggressive bass line, strong drums. It combines house and bass boosted sounds. It was popularized in 2018-2019. Deep House in its turn is a subgenre of house music characterized by light. But at the same time in-depth atmospheric sound with a minimal set of instrumentation. As well as frequent imposition of the effect of “wet signal” (reverb), and the presence of light ambient overflow. Initially it was overflowing with melodies built on old chord progressions. Played with the ghostly sound of an electric organ. Prominent representatives of that time were Eric Kupper (including K-Scope), Kevin Yost, Larry Heard.

There are almost always vocals or a vocal chop in the drop. Remakes and remixes of old tracks are very popular in this genre. Great examples of this trend are Imanbek’s remix of the track SAINt JHN’s Roses, and Dynoro’s remake In My Mind.
After the release of Imanbek’s remix “Roses” continued to gain success in many countries around the world.
Tracks of this style are taking off in the radio charts. Major music labels are releasing music in Slap House format.
